What have you outgrown?

Love,

Ducking its head beneath the algae spotted lake, the freshwater turtle hid as my feet made their way across the wooden bridge with determination. Suddenly, I paused. “You're not failing. You've simply outgrown it,” echoed from within my fanny pack.

My shoulders dropped and I breathed. Those words from a podcast that my Soul led me to play had ended my mind's ceaseless attempt at making something feel more joyful that wasn't meant to be.

As I walked along my path and watched the bees cover themselves in bright, orange butterfly weed, I realized something…

I had outgrown my business—like my old favorite sweater that didn't quite fit anymore (you know, the one with the sleeves that you have to roll up after an accidental hot cycle in the dryer). It was cozy for who I once was but had no room for who I was becoming.

I wanted it to grow with me. A change was in the air and I felt it every molecule in my being. As the cottonwood trees blew in the wind, a storm was brewing. I could no longer go back to who I thought I needed to be, nor what I thought my business should be. A leaf fell down, brushing my cheek and my Soul whispered, “Be who you are now.”

I see you. It may feel so difficult to open up to new possibilities and explore different potentials when you're trying to hold onto an idea or belief that used to make you feel safe and no longer aligns with who you are. I've been there. Bumping up against those thoughts of “what am I doing wrong? and “why can't I get this right?” So, let's take a deep breath, be little more gentle with ourselves, and ease into a warming acceptance of this question:

What am I growing into now?

Remember you're not broken; you're growing. You need only say “Okay, Soul” and follow. For the next 7 minutes in your journal, listen in as your Soul responds:

  • What have I outgrown?

  • What am I shedding?

  • Where am I expanding?

  • What am I growing into now?

  • What might it feel like for my [business/relationship/fill in the blank] to support me now?

  • What might it look like for my [business/relationship/fill in the blank] to grow with me?

  • What am I now open to celebrating?

Celebrate your growth and wonder through your new expansion.

What are you nurturing this morning? Notice what's now sparking your Soul. As you glance into the future and bring it closer to you in the present, let's celebrate all of your favorite moments, cherished wisdom, and hard-earned (and bountiful) lessons. It can be a beautiful experience when you allow yourself to let go, celebrate, and grow. This is your season of growth. And yes, you deserve it.

It was inevitable,

the way you spun Time

 to satisfy an old belief

that was no more than a memory,

releasing what once consumed you,

to make way

for something new and unexpected.

Show me.

Surprise me.

Delight me.

All together,

the world understood

your asking.

All together,

the universe resounded,

and its response

was in your making.

May you allow yourself the chance to take one, small step towards the new door that's opening for you, in ways that replenish you and enliven your Joy. Have a peaceful weekend and a magical week to come.

Gracefully yours,
